About me
I'm a clinical psychologist with seven years' experience treating mental health difficulties. I worked four years at Hillmorton Hospital with Canterbury District Health Board (Te Whatu Ora), then moved to private practice in early 2022. I have particular expertise in anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and adult ADHD. I also specialise in trauma treatment using EMDR therapy. My client-centred approach creates a safe, compassionate environment where clients can express themselves, develop coping strategies, and work through their challenges.

I provide comprehensive psychological assessments for ADHD in adults. I offer both in person and online assessments.
Important changes to ADHD medication prescribing for 2026
From February 1st, 2026, a significant change to the current pathway will take effect: specially trained GPs and nurse practitioners (NPs) will be able to diagnose ADHD in adults (18+) and prescribe medications. However, it is expected that not all GPs and nurse practitioners will offer ADHD assessments, and it is not yet clear who will do so.
Recommendation for clients considering an ADHD assessment booking with Jack Carrell
Before booking: Contact your medical practice to confirm whether your GP or NP can prescribe stimulant medication for ADHD from February 2026.
Good news: Most GPs and NPs are expected to be able to prescribe stimulant medication and accept diagnosis from a clinical psychologist.

Assessment and Treatment
I offer assessment and treatment for adults struggling with low mood, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma related difficulties. I also offer support to those struggling with general life difficulties and relationship problems. I will consider all others who contact me seeking help and support for difficulties that do not fit with the above descriptions.
I am available to complete Readiness Assessments / Affirmative Gender-Informed Assessments.
ACC Accredited
I am ACC accredited and provide psychological services to those who have experienced mental injury and are looking to engage in either ACC sensitive claims or psychological services.
